Congress needs more people like Cyle, who grew up in a low-income household and, through hard work and determination, raised himself up by his literal bootstraps. At 17, and as a senior in high school, Cyle joined the Army National Guard. The discipline and experience he gained in the military taught him the importance of strong leadership. While serving in the National Guard, Cyle went to college on the GI Bill and later worked his way through law school.
Today, he stands up for working people. Cyle has made it his mission to hold powerful elites accountable and for everybody to benefit more from their hard work. Now he’s ready to take that grit and knowledge to Congress. He knows how the system works and how to get things done. He will listen to and serve the people of his community. He is committed to holding town halls and hearing from his constituents directly. He will embrace new approaches to ensure every suggestion and criticism is heard and valued.
Cyle and his wife are raising their young daughters in Minnesota’s 8th District because it reminds them of where they grew up: small-town, working-class communities where people just want the best for their families. A place where people still believe that hard work pays off, despite every obstacle in their way. It’s those obstacles Cyle wants to break down: the high cost of health insurance and prescription drugs, the challenge of supporting one’s family (young and old alike), and the need for expanded educational opportunities (especially including more trade skills in schools). He believes every community deserves investment to keep people there and to rebuild thriving small-town America.
